At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we challenged writers to create some short stories to be produced by us here at Fire and Iron Productions (when it is safe to do so, of course). We were extremely impressed with the quality of the work submitted by everyone, but we do have our winners. Let's introduce them and their stories.
First up is Shane Harper with 'The Lion's Honour'. This will be directed by our founder, Peter Turner
The next winner is Debbie Wood with 'Pain and Purpose' which is based on her true story. This will be directed by both Peter and Becca Holley, our Head of Design
Finally, we have Joshua Jewkes with 'The Interview'. This will be directed by our Head of Marketing, Christin Prüstel
This is not only a great opportunity for the writers to get their pieces produced but it's also a chance for other members of our team to take a project on. This is Becca and Christin's first time heading up a project for Fire and Iron and we are extremely excited to see what they will produce from these stories gifted to us by some very talented writers. Each piece will have a different feel and a clear voice. We can't wait to see what the final product will look like.
Another bit of exciting news is that two of our short films have been put on on two different streaming services. Our latest short film 'The Other Way' has been released to 24Flix and our very first short film 'Profile' has been picked up by From The 3rd Story Distribution. Very exciting news, something that we are extremely proud of and hope to continue in the future.
